CO2-neutral architecture for living, living and working

We work on global challenges in science, research and practice in a wide variety of interdisciplinary projects around the world. We design and build exclusively CO2-neutral, electricity-only buildings in various scales for our built environment of tomorrow. The focus of our work is on the maximum integration of load-bearing and structure, form logic, state-of-the-art building technology, the use of exclusively renewable energy systems and a high-end design attitude.
Each of our projects is energetically simulated before applying for the building permit and before the construction site begins; we want to know exactly what performance is to be expected in the construction and the designed building services components. For this purpose, we have developed four measurement protocols with which we can compare the simulation later in the operating phase of the building. Using all the materials used in the external components, the U-values of the individual areas are simulated as a proportion of the total U-value of the building envelope, then the use of renewable energies and their proportion of the total energy requirements of the building, as well as the energy consumption measured over a year for one m2 and the amount of CO2 saved over a year (calculated in tons).
